My colleague @taylorlorenz is suspended after seeking comment. I'm still blocked from using Twitter until I delete a tweet that's a piece of reporting.

Elon Musk tells me over email re: @taylorlorenz: "Apparently, Taylor doxxed someone on Twitter, for which there is a minimum one day suspension and her account will be reactivated shortly. That will be raised to seven days going forward." Doesn't provide further detail. Suspension happened shortly after she tweeted at him asking for comment on a story we're reporting for the Washington Post.

@drewharwell @taylorlorenz@mastodon.socialt's a funhouse mirror. He'll amuse himself and his followers by randomly changing the rules, canceling and reinstating accounts, and so forth. His control over the platform itself is the game to him; we're both an audience and the game pieces.

@annmlipton Bingo. Musk is every little kid who discovered they could host their own video game server and get admin god powers over their friends.

And, like every one of those kids, he's abusing the power so it's fun for nobody but him, and will soon find himself alone.
