The #ACLU has misunderstood the purpose of #Nazi/#KKK speech, which is not to advocate for opinions, for political change, or peaceful or even violent resistance - but to intimidate targets and encourage terrorism. It is not #freespeech but an effort to deprive others of #civilrights, including free speech.

@vy If they're so evil for advocating taking away others' rights, how are you not equally as evil for advocating taking away their rights?

is still whether you find the content repugnant or not.

The ACLU understands this.

@LouisIngenthron I don't believe anyone has the right to terrorize other people or to prevent them from exercising their civil rights. Do you claim death threats are free speech?

@vy Like everything, context matters.
Serious death threats? Of course not.
Hyperbolic death threats? Generally, yes.

And that, to my knowledge, matches 1A jurisprudence.
