A little heads up:

Judge Chen has three more days on his schedule for the Tesla Securities trial in N.D. Cal.

Those days are Tues., Wed., and Fri. of this week. Thereafter, the jury will deliberate for as long as need be.

The trial days run 8:30am - 2:30pm PT.

I likely will not even dial in tomorrow. To be honest, I've had too much Elon for way too long, and I have real work to do, which could have a real impact on Elon, and which should take precedence over things that only tangentially shitpost in his general vicinity.

I offered to write up a full debrief of the trial, but the trial teams didn't take me up on the request to send me the real time transcripts, so if it's not important for them, it's not important to me. We all have our priorities.

I am not going to lie, I dialed in this afternoon and hearing the defense counsel get overruled on their request for an expert jury instruction repeat is kind of satisfying. That is 100% my personal bias and not at all an objective report, but I am human and you all can deal with that.

When people act the way that the lawyer on cross is acting with this expert right now, I cannot imagine that the jury likes it. But inevitably, such lawyers win jury trials, so idk. This is why I spend all my time usually in a non-jury trial court.

Judge Chen is seeming to not tolerate as much nonsense from maybe either side lately, but one thing about defense counsel here is that they are so absolutely bonkers overconfident even when they are saying and doing things that are wrong, like, "YES, I'M USING IT TO REFRESH HIS RECOLLECTION, THAT'S WHY I'M GOING TO READ IT ALOUD, even though I SPENT FOREVER CHASTISING OPPOSING COUNSEL LAST WEEK for BEING SO STUPID as to do a similar thing last week."

It's all just weird theatrics.

And then backpedaling when called out because "oh, well, I'm trying to be efficient" insert ???.gif here.

It's just overconfident techbro energy but on absolute old school television lawyer steroids, and it's a whole vibe, and I mean, in a way, it's almost impressive in its soaring scope and full-throatedness.
