I just haven't had much time to get back into blogging, but when I do, I have shit-ton of topics (and gripes) to discuss. My latest is how too many people think it's stylish and fun to beat up on Twitter, without considering just how big a deal Twitter actually was and still is, and just now many things have depended on it. Rather than see it as some villian, we should see it as a victim that needs rescuing, until the fediverse has backfilled the GOOD things it did and provided for us.

@shoq Twitter itself is neither a victim nor a villain. It's a tool. And right now, it's a tool owned by a villain.

We just want to convince others to stop playing with the villain's tools, because he keeps drawing swastikas on them.

@LouisIngenthron It's a tool for social engagement. And one that millions became co-dependent on it. Yes, we want to persuade them that they have an alternative, but they don't quite see it as one yet. To them, an alternative would give them most of what they had. Right now, the Fediverse is telling them to accept less because it's better for them. Most people resent being told what's good for them. They want to be lured by benefits, not coersions, guilt, or shame.

@shoq It is my opinion that more decisions *should* be driven by shame in this country and that's a standard we ought to aspire to.

Those who act shamefully should be shamed.

Those who wish to wash themselves of the shame of supporting a billionaire who props up Nazis are welcome to do so by exercising a little self control and leaving the platform. It's a social network, not a dialysis machine.
