@Katrags @Jeffrey_Smith@mastodon.social Yes, if someone thinks the erratic driver poses a threat to themselves or others, they have the right to eliminate that threat on their property.
That said, I believe this particular case was unjustified because he only shot as they were driving away. Shooting at a fleeing suspect should never be legal.

That comment is why Florida has the reputation it does.
It's why Florida has more homicides that most big cities.
Why states with Stand your Ground Laws are the most dangerous states in the Union.
@Katrags No, Florida has more homocides than most big cities because Florida is a state that contains more than one city.
States with stand your ground/castle doctrine laws and precedents are 3/4 of the union.
@LouisIngenthron
Florida has 4 cities of the top 100 for gun deaths. Most of the cities in the list are in the South and in states that have Stand Your Ground laws.
We are the most dangerous country in the World, excluding active war zones, BECAUSE of the gun culture that supports those laws.
But, luckily, evolution will deal with it in the end, and the problem is taking care of itself.
@LouisIngenthron @Katrags @Jeffrey_Smith I love sarcasm that needs no tags
@LouisIngenthron @Jeffrey_Smith
Threatening enough to shot at the driver?
Really?
Driving erratically can mean many things, including a medical emergency, and pulling a gun is, in most responsible gun owners eyes (and countries) an option of last resort.
