Do you know what the policy is in your area if you would like to surrender firearms?

I'm not asking for knowledge - this more more rhetorical.

Isn't it odd that, at least in America, you know what to do with like... 99% of the world you don't want to deal with?

The solution? Well, depending on the state - they might ask you to just pawn them.

Pawning firearms isn't a solution. That is a capitalist response to a lack of solutions.

This is one of a ton of ways the laws aren't designed properly.

@mentallyalex Is that really so strange, though? I give clothes I don't want to Goodwill. I sell jewelry I don't want to pawn shops. I pay auto shops to take care of used motor oil I don't want. Heck, there are even entire for-profit corps built around waste-management.

While I agree that it would be nice to have a universal gov-run buyback program, being instructed to sell it to someone who's licensed to deal with it safely does seem to be a fairly reasonable solution to the problem.
