Mass shooting on the boardwalk of a #Florida city. https://www.cbsnews.com/miami/news/police-respond-to-reports-of-multiple-people-shot-at-hollywood-broadwalk/ #GunViolence
@w7voa Sounds more like a shootout than a "mass shooting".
"It started with an altercation between two groups, which escalated to shots being fired, according to Hollywood officials."
@LouisIngenthron @w7voa
I see your point, I'm just very depressed because I had the same reaction.
It's gotten horrific if we can both see 9 people get shot and think "Is that really a mass shooting?"
Not a knock against you. Just a very bleak observation.
@WiszCharlie @w7voa It pisses me off a little bit. I honestly believe that a good part of the reason that so many disturbed kids commit mass shootings is because they want to get their name and picture in the news... and the news is more than happy to oblige.
The NRA has some blame when it comes to "opportunity", but the media definitely has some blame when it comes to "motive". And calling everything under the sun a "mass shooting" certainly isn't helping matters.
