I'm seeing a lot more bad faith arguments and strawmanning in recent weeks and I'm curious if that is because Twitter has finally collapsed?

Are we dealing with new groups of reply-guys? It doesn't look like they're very effective or *good* but they seem persistent.

@mentallyalex I haven't seen that myself, but you're not the first person I've heard this complaint from. Maybe it's only affecting accounts with larger follower-numbers at the moment?

But I've also seen the reverse problem... when people post about contentious or debatable subjects, but then get upset and start throwing accusations of "reply guys" at other folks who jump in to have an open dialog about the subject in good faith.

It seems to be the same problem as "mansplaining", i.e. a legitimate problem that would be easier to address if it didn't suffer so from excessive false accusations.
