@ThinkingSapien @HopelessDemigod Yeah, it's a lot easier to blame them for incompetence when you don't see the incompetent systems they have to use or the grossly incompetent executives they answer to.
Also, it looks that a request to give me access to systems that I need for this project was not complete (despite the notification saying otherwise). I might not be in a position to make **any** changes.
@ThinkingSapien @HopelessDemigod Just have to translate that into business speak:
"We need to prioritize cross-training to limit liability and leverage our workforce so we can minimize downtime and decrease our long-term support costs without an accompanying increase in development payroll."
On that topic, some of the interfaces/software services that they have to use for some portions of the project are absolute crap.
That said, I want two things.
1) Any project that has only 1 dev needs a backup to atleast become casually familiar with the project. If that can't be done, there shall be documentation left behind.
2) release days and vacations of vital people shall not overlap.
