Also curious as to what happens when
#fediverse servers start getting these types of requests and subpoenas from the government. I don't think the average small server operator has the bandwidth or financial resources to fight the #DOJ in federal court.

These is a horrible ruling from

@bblaze They can't release granular numbers because it's a threat to national security. That applies under administrations of both parties, not just Democrats. And it applies to all big social media companies, not just Twitter.

They can still release more generalized data in reporting bands allowed by law.

As with most things, it's not nearly as bad as the headline makes it sound.
