So, I have to go to a paint store today.
I don't know what to wear, I'm not sure what protocol is...

I was told to tell them Erick sent me, he has an account apparently, and they would know what to do.

My default stance in these situations is to find someone who seems annoyed to be there and shadow them...let's hope that plays well!

I'll keep you informed.

Off topic, did you know there is a paint color called peacock?

So....many...paint.

They also sell tape and really big sticks. And paint weighs a lot more than you think.

@mentallyalex Are you doing the painting yourself?

If so, here's some advice from someone else who was inexperienced and easily overwhelmed:
Do many thin coats and take your time. That makes it easy to make it look good and even, and it makes it easy to cover up mistakes in subsequent layers.

Also, masking tape helps, but do not rely on it to save you from yourself.

@LouisIngenthron I am doing this 100% the write way.

I write checks and it happens. :blobcatlaugh:

Get those big drop cloths for the floor. They are about $10 at Harbor Freight. Also, rags. No matter how neat you think you're going to be, you're going to mess up.

@MHowell I am sure they will.

Or I will get a free wood floor, or perhaps a new fleet van with a scared contractor inside begging to be released back into the wild. :blobcatsip:
