This is just naive: If AI models should be tested for "unsafe" uses, so perhaps should printing presses, microphones, and broadcast towers, and hammers.

@Famoso @jeffjarvis Product safety and consumer protection are about preventing undue harm to the consumer from the product. They're not about preventing the consumer from intentionally causing harm with the product.
If they were, then kitchen knives would be illegal.
@LouisIngenthron @Famoso @jeffjarvis I think scale is part of it too. One person with a knife can only hurt so many people. But a person with a bomb can hurt more so they are regulated differently
@ryebreadnyc @Famoso @jeffjarvis To an extent, sure. But then you have things like flamethrowers, which are totally unregulated, that throw that theory to the wolves.
