@eniko as Facebook learned with their gender options, some things just shouldn't be dropdowns
@SirTapTap @eniko You'll get a kick out of this, the phone system we use at work (#FreePBX) is littered with time entry fields that are drop downs for no discernible reason, like this for example:
@atomicwrites @SirTapTap @eniko At one point the FreePBX developer team really got on a tear about making as much as possible dropdowns in an effort to save users from themselves (I guess) and not enter invalid data. Unfortunately they could not anticipate every valid entry that might go in a specific setting so they would up causing major problems for some advanced users. Some of that has been dialed back (no pun intended) but still there are dropdowns that in some cases are just weird.
