@darrylxxx I have never understood what good a stash of gold will be to these preppers if society devolves to ther point they are planning for. You can't eat gold, you can't burn it for fuel, and it makes a lousy construction material. And if, despite all that it retains some value, then it's the first thing anyone who knows about their stash is going to try to steal.

(Also guns are useless without ammunition and gas masks won't do anything for you if there is insuffiucient oxygen, but I'm sure the people who sell those things appreciate his business!)
