Baking tools, tech question, silly

#foodies and #kitchentech and #science sorts: am seeking a manual kitchen scale that can handle smaller amounts (think yeast).

This possible? Does it exist? Am running through batteries at an enormous rate on my digital scale and am finding this beyond irritating.

@Misshavisham I hope this doesn’t come across as obnoxious as Ike not helping with a recommendation, scale-wise (okay, I should stop there 😄)

I’ve found that I don’t need that much precision for salt, yeast when baking bread. My last loaf used, very roughly, 1/4 tsp of yeast but it wasn’t really important as the yeast was old and I was going to have to wait for the surviving beasties to multiply anyway. What would normally have been a 12 hour waiting period became about 20 before it was ready.

I also don’t notice a huge difference between a heaping tsp of salt and two. That said, I’m older and my taste buds may be less sensitive.

The scale is *great* for the big stuff, though.
