Have been enjoying #ThePeripheral, but I found Episode5 to be frustrating.

Enjoying the series, but character's action/motivation writing has been frustrating this ep.

@ottaross Just got around to watching it today… Yeah, it didn’t seem to advance the story at *all*… But now we know how Conner lost his limbs, I guess.

@MichaelPorter I though Burton's behaviour was out of sync with the character they had crafted for him. Rather than razor-sharp commando, he was bumbling and awkward. And the last scene seemed badly laid out and implausible.

Still a fan so far. I hope they didn't turf a key writer in the middle of the series or something.

@ottaross Yeah, given the skill set of Flynn and Burton, it was odd that “truck lady with a shotgun” is the one who saved the day. But, America…

@MichaelPorter yes!
(Spoiler - ish) ...

He runs past the knocked-down assailant at some point too, which really bugged me.

@ottaross @MichaelPorter I'm a bit put off by them using a violently hemmoragic filovirus for their "pandemic", and not a subtle respiratory virus like we have now. We're almost 4 years into a pandemic, everyone knows you aren't out spreading blood droplets if you're writhing around with an exploding abdomen. R 1.02 tops.

@johnefrancis @ottaross Yup, missed opportunity there, unless they end up looking wonderfully prophetic when a hemorrhagic virus *does* wipe us all out...

Spoiler, it will be something easily avoided as long as we can convince 80%. of the population to adopt simple preventative measures... We all die 😄
