Mary Frances Thompson, best known as Te Ata, was a great Chickasaw storyteller. She performed at state dinners for FDR in the 1930s, and in 1987 was named Oklahoma's 1st State Treasure.

She lived 100 years -- from 1895 to 1995, a period of incredible change.

@RustyBertrand

My gran lived from 1895 to 1986 and I used to think that she saw the greatest ever change in her lifetime...from pony and cart to Concorde!

I was born in 1956 and then I think about the change I've experienced...

Colour CRT TVs...come and gone
VCRs...come and gone
Fax...come and gone
Cassettes...come and gone
CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays...come and gone
Dial-up internet modems...come and gone

The list is endless 🤷

@TCMuffin @RustyBertrand My great-grandfather lived from 1897 to 1991. He got to see Halley's Comet twice: in 1910 and 1986.
