While Putin is isolated by the West, India has doubled down on buying Russian oil. Prime Minister Modi calls his country's friendship with Moscow "unbreakable."

India has traditionally sourced the overwhelming bulk of its arms from Russia. This may be one reason why they are "sucking up" to Russia. It will be a great inconvenience to India if they are unable to source spare parts for their weapons systems because they have fallen out with Putin's regime. However, the question still remains whether they will continue to source weapons from Russia as Russian weapons systems have proven to be woefully inadequate in combat in Ukraine.

The absolute worst thing from the Russian point of view about Putin's ridiculous war is that the reputation of Russia as a world class supplier of arms as good as those from the west (but significantly cheaper) has been irreparably damaged.
