A story about #pride :
In 1976, I started college as a theater major.
As you would expect there were, at that time, a significant representation of gay men among my classmates.
These were wonderful, creative, funny, men from all over the country suddenly free to be who they were. Some were meek, fresh out of the closet boys. Others were loud, out, and dazzling.
It was a closeted world in 1976 for the most part.
Then AIDS hit and Reagan treated it as god's punishment for perversion.

It's odd that Reagan is such a hero to conservative Americans in the same way that Mao Zedong is a hero to most Chinese despite the fact that as a result of Chairman Mao's extreme arrogance, utter stupidity and refusal to listen to experts, up to 50 million Chinese died of starvation!
