Not an adventurer, a worker doing his job in extreme heat: His story is just as important.

A postal worker collapsed and died Tuesday while on his route in Dallas amid 115 degree heat in the area, according to the U.S. Postal Service.

I have experienced 47°C = 117°F in northern Thailand and I can attest to it being pretty unbearable! Two local building labourers died that particularly hot year from heatstroke. The risk of which most people are unaware is extreme sweating causing both dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. If severe enough, the latter can lead to a heart attack.

A major problem in Thailand is that the only water many people can afford is 'osmotically filtered'; in effect distilled water. Unlike bottled spring water, this contains no dissolved salts to replenish the body's electrolyte levels and is thus positively dangerous!
