Autumn is a good time to spot red squirrels - if you’re lucky. In the UK, loss of suitable forest habitat and threat from non-native grey squirrels has put the reds at risk - but a relocation project is offering hope for this much-loved mammal.

Over here in Luxembourg, reds are the only squirrels one sees. However, they are a much darker red than the orangy-red ones in the UK. Over here they are dark red, going on black!
