@RolandDeschaine Simply because Goodreads is just another random platform where users are the product (as well as Twitter, Strava, etc.), owned by Amazon (and probably most of users are also using a Kindle from Amazon). LibraryThing is a good alternative and a real community in a lot of ways. You can directly contribute to the database and I also pay what you want.
