Teachers, what are some of your go-to strategies to improve student engagement and retention while delivering direct instruction (ie, a lecture)?
@brndnpink @edutooters Avoid lecture longer than 10 minutes w/out having students discuss questions/insights in partners/small groups or apply new learning. Think of it as finding ways to move what you've just discussed with them into long term memory.
