Broken SSD the NVMEwhatever type, won't mount even to see if there are partitions. Took it out of a computer that died because of that. Got the data from a backup, it's already been written off. Anything else I should do or should I just snap this thing as a 'data destruction' thing and move on?

I have one in my Linux system desktop, the motherboard didn’t have the slot so I bought an adapter made it works. But boot the OS from it I still don’t know how. Online find some resource about Windows OS.
@Sphinx Yeah, I've done a few things, but the I think I am just going to believe this:

... and break it in half to dispose of it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something dumb, first. (Like 'Did you press the reset button behind next to the screw at the top?')
