One of the symbols of Bakhmut is a tall building at the entrance to the city, which had a mural of a happy family on it - a father holding his son on his shoulders, and a mother holding her daughter. However, due to Russian air strikes and artillery fire, the building is now gone and only the father and son remain in the mural.
