In his evening address to the public, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russians had launched an X-101 missile into Russia in April of 2023, which, according to preliminary estimates, hit Kryvyi Rih. He further noted that the missile was composed of around 50 components, mostly microelectronics, which were produced in the free world and delivered to Russia through various means. He also mentioned that this was not the only type of missile they produce. Zelenskyy highlighted that Russia takes advantage of the imposed restrictions and circumvents sanctions with the help of intermediaries, particularly third countries. As a result, Ukraine has imposed sanctions on all companies in Russia that produce missiles. He concluded that the cases of intermediary companies registered in third countries demonstrate that the current measures are not enough and sanctions should be strengthened, particularly against them.
