“More than two dozen Taylor Swift fans sued Ticketmaster in a California court for anticompetitive and fraudulent behavior after they alleged the company blocked them from buying tickets this past month to the musician’s concerts.”
@juddlegum I remember when Pearl Jam tried to break the Ticketmaster monopoly in the 90's and failed. I hope this bunch has better luck, because those service fees are outrageous.
@ZingerLearns@juddlegum It was Congress that failed to do their job after the Ticketmaster hearings in 1994 and the “Pearl Jam Bill” went nowhere. DOJ closed their investigation in 1995. PJ toured without TM in 1996, using FT&T and playing venues well outside of the norm. Great shows, but many complaints. Fan club/10club tickets solved a bit of the issue for the 1998 tour at TM venues, but not much changed since then.
