@zerocool Haha yeah, "company is doing great", then reality delivered. Classic.
So i guess from what you describe, you are not an office sitter. More glory to you (Gouron approves), the next job will be easy.
Sorry to hear you lost likable colleagues, those are more valuable than anything. Eh, at last the ceo was a pos, firing you without warning. Gotta take the good where it can be found.
Please tell me what a panda is, i am not a native english speaker.
@admitsWrongIfProven pandas is just a data science tool for python. At first i thought they were teling a joke like an episode of the office 😂 i think the twitter layoffs proved that noone is safe even if you are responsible for (checks notes….) infrastructure for deploying/scaling the app
@zerocool Ah, the world of non-fossils. I just pander (pan-da? can i make that joke as someone without kids?) in java, easy to use as can be, with just inane minds to propose challenges to me. Manglement will always find a way... to steer off-course.
Tell me, do you have avenues to pursue, a direction to go, a thing you want to do?
I may be caught in a web of employment, but i would love to hear someone has plans, not just to make money but a goal.
@admitsWrongIfProven ive had a number of friends and former colleagues reach out with leads and references. I also have a small app on the side I may try to finish during this stint.
@zerocool Anything of this interests you, or just "might earn money" stuff?
@admitsWrongIfProven definitely my own app, ill be posting about it more regularly as it comes together. Also, an old boss of mine has an interesting startup involving some hardware controlled by Kotlin with a typescript front end he is building a team for in January that sounds pretty cool.
@admitsWrongIfProven i worked for a startup and i did most of the devops, a good amount of software engineering, and even some pandas. Kind of a many hats fullstack role. There was about 5 people at the company total. They are just trying to extend their runway a bit (little to no revenue). I didnt have any negative performance reviews or anything, so i am a bit blindsided. I was under the impression the money wasnt tight, that is just startups i guess 🤷♂️ also really liked my coworkers ❤️
