@rdaily Alzheimers, in this case. And i remember Terry was pretty miffed that one had to travel abroad to get the graceful ending. Right he was!

@admitsWrongIfProven
What do you mean travel abroad to get the graceful ending? I knew he had alzheimers, and it's such a shame. But I don't know further specifics.

@rdaily

@trinsec @rdaily He wanted to end his life with assistance before the end stage. That was not an option in England at the time (i have no idea if there were any changes). So to people saying he could just travel to the netherlands he said that this was not an option, as he wanted to die in his own home, not travelling. And i completely agree that people suffering a debilitating illness should not be forced to travel for such a thing.

Sorry for no source, but it was quite a while ago.

@admitsWrongIfProven
Aha, thanks for the info. I can imagine it perfectly, actually. A while ago a prince of our royal family had a ski accident and got into a coma. He was in a coma for a very long time and actually would need to be put in assisted suicide, but the royal family didn't want that so they moved him to the UK to prevent that from happening. So that falls in line with this yeah. UK probably hasn't changed their stance yet.

Thanks, that clears up the story. But he still died in the UK, right? Poor guy, he knew what he was in for and he must've absolutely utterly hated it too because he was such a brilliant mind. 😢

@trinsec I'm not actually sure anymore if i heard anything further. Media attention tends to be lavish when the topic is controversial, but less so for the conclusion.
He might well have agreed to focus on the things that matter to the living, though. At least for matters concerning the sphereworld.
