Some of the most fearsome people I have ever met have been woman a foot shorter than me.

For me, 193cm tall, a woman with less than average height is scary. In the US we have firearms and the height they are kept at on display leaves them pointed at my groin. Much like a sidearm being easily accessed, so too are sensitive areas.
It's possible that a female lab partner grabbed something that wasn't her bag and left a man with a pocket protector blushing with a very strange look on their face.
