@AdamStuartSmith When my local natural history museum got its T. rex, to much fanfare, they made a terrible poster with a T. rex with as few feathers as they could still get away with. So many dinosaur palaeontologists seem to believe that people still want dinosaurs to look like they did in a movie from 1993.

@anomalocaris @AdamStuartSmith I think the feathers make them scarier. It's a visual reminder that they are not cold-blooded, stupid, and slow.

@ambulocetus I watched a seagull pick up and eat a dropped sandwich the other day. The gull flew off though not before giving me a rather stern look, during which racial memories were awakened in both of us and 65 million years briefly counted for nothing.
