Saw a series of eight magazine covers by Ed Emshwiller for #Christmas issues of Galaxy magazine, 1951 to 1960 posted on tumblr and had to share my favorites and describe them all.
I almost teared up a little seeing the cute little black girl on the "Mall #Santa" issue... thinking about what that would have meant to my mom if she could have seen it as a kid. That's so rare in #sci-fi art.
And my ants love "hexapod Santa" Thank you Ed!

What was with the 50s and designing aliens by switching up the number of limbs or other body parts????
I mean I do like it, but it's just kind of goofy if you think about it too much.
