#Help wanted!
With some friends we are setting up a local informal environmentalist group, with the aim of pushing forward good practices, spread sustainability, ecological awareness, and this kind of #solarpunk. stuff.
So far we are planning of doing #permaculture , #food production, #composting workshops, #Seed library, #GuerrillaGardening, collective purchase from #RegenerativeAgriculture farms, but we'd like to have more on the todo list.
Help me get out of our echo chamber, and give me your ideas about more activities we could engage ourselves and the local communities in.

@arteteco We managed to create a public arboretum with mainly fruit trees years ago, not far from Rome. It's surely part of the #guerrillagardening family. Look into "Libero Orto di Latina"

What kind of trees do you plant? Are you aware of any contaminant that the soil or air may have that can jeopardize the edibility?
My area is very polluted, and that is our main concern when it comes to guerrilla gardening...

@arteteco Luckily we took action in a town of 120K inhabitants, with a rationalist urban plant, where the pretty low air pollution generated could easily fly away. On the other hand, the area had a serious drought problem @ summer, but we easily managed it with semi-natural mulching and light "pit planting" of trees. Now the roots brought water to the surface and the soil doesn't get rock hard in the sun anymore. Also fruits are way better than supermarket 😁
