propaganda

imho russia is better at the propaganda game.

the russian propaganda i've seen is targeting positive emotions. it started with the personified versions of vehicles like buhanka-chan. now we have putin on the shooting range asserting leadership amongst guys one head taller. the "sabereen news" music video praising putin and their "axis" also was pretty well done and focuses on the perceived strengths and positive traits (the russian who is warm and tough, etc.) instead of the weakness of the enemy.

the western propaganda, be it "official" things on TV or things like "NAFO" is just shitting on russia often in not really funny or outright distasteful ways, at least it's not positive emotions which are conveyed.

i think this is quite telling about the state of the west and how desperate leaders are to keep shit together without tightening the thumb-screws on their populace too much.
