So there was recently drama about a Minecraft launcher. Some random MultiMC fork.

There was a mass warning being virally spread to remove the software as soon as possible and assume it to be backdoored and malicious.

So what happened that caused an enormous campaign to warn people about dangerous software?

The developer removed the Code of Conduct.

@straw @get @r000t @LucasVL @inference This was a developer who uses a compromised password, exploit, or something, to get backdoor access to the PolyMC github organization. This then lead to the rouge dev pushing every other dev out. Although right now it’s fine but we have to assume the worst when a project gets violently overtaken by a dev, it’s too much of a security risk.

@itzzenxx @get @r000t @LucasVL @inference no exactly CoCksuckers are the ones against CoCs CoCs are based
@r000t @straw @get @r000t @LucasVL @itzzenxx @inference CoCs are religious documents. why would I want that in a software project?

>CoCs are religious documents
>the sqlite CoC is pretty good tho
Bro are you for real? That one explicitly relates to an established religion.
