"More than 1,000 “super-emitter” sites gushed the potent greenhouse gas methane into the global atmosphere in 2022"
Hard to know what the most shocking part of this story is, but just the idea that 25% of current warming is from methane and **40%** of that methane is from entirely avoidable fossil fuel facility leaks is horrifying. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/mar/06/revealed-1000-super-emitting-methane-leaks-risk-triggering-climate-tipping-points #methane #climate #fossilfuels

@helenczerski why would you fix that? you can get rich on fossil fuels while at the same time you can get even richer selling crappy EV and bugs as protein source xD
@bonifartius
I still have it cold, so ignore
@helenczerski
@nldtmv @helenczerski well, the fun part is it even doesn't matter if anything is happening or not - all the measures clearly only hit common people with the goal to sell more stuff. more new cars, more new heating, more new "food", more new medication, more new "green" energy, ...
_that's_ the real scam. if climate change is real it's a fraud as the "measures" are totally bullshit because it's about making some last bucks before the world ends. if it isn't real it's just bullshitting everyone into buying shit they don't need - accelerating many other environmental problems.
@bonifartius
It's obvious a scam, the most obvious is buying real estate next to water by the ones screaming we will drown.
I'm happy "green" is getting more and more negative attention destroying earth and killing nature and animals
