i earnestly believe that i am more trad than most conservatives
@errante Likewise, although when you see what passes for conservatism these days, it's not a high bar to clear.
@netdoll sure but i think im decently more trad than even a lot of ppl ud think are Proper Conversatives
@errante such as? (not to pry or anything, I just want to suss out which demo youre referring to here)
@netdoll im a strong agarian and thats more of a trad view but not many people hold it
@netdoll i believe that everyone should be involved in the production of their food and i dont think most go much further than 'More Farmerms ... . ... .. ..Villlage ...... . .. .. . .. ... .. Balcksmithg? / //'
@netdoll like theres def a lot of agarian /sentiment/ but ive not seen anyone think that literally everyone should be involved in the production of food
@errante @netdoll I don't think that's a very trad view to begin with if you consider alienation theory
@menthol6 @netdoll i dont consider alienation theory but i envision a 'return' to 'village life' (that has never existed in the form i describe, but there is reminscence)

but nearly every household was involved in food production, numbers for germany i've found:

1900: 30.6 workers/hectare
1950: 29.2
2000: 3.6

those people weren't all from somewhere else. you've also had people who could make wooden wheels and other wooden instruments in your village, a blacksmith for the horses and so on. industrialization removed the need for this.
