@bonifartius i personally don't mind 300mbps for €50 a month. Sure I'd rather reliable fibre, but all in all.... I've seen way shittier and more expensive services. Just saying ;)
@bonifartius here in Italy that's kinda on the expensive side nowadays. But if you can't get fibre, that's the best thing you can get. I mean, you can get FWA connection pretty much anywhere l, and that will run you 30-ish a month just like fibre connection, but that always comes with data cap and 100 Mbps is all you can really count on to be delivered, so... ;)
@ThatCrazyDude i got ~200Mbit/s cable which is ok, only the upload is very shit like 6Mbit/s
@bonifartius upload isn't great with Starlink either. On average I'm getting 10mbps, sometimes more, sometimes less... I hear it's better in Germany though. Probably because they have POP in Frankfurt. And BTW they're routing my traffic trough that POP too, which is bizarre
@PawelK @ThatCrazyDude point of presence
@PawelK @bonifartius from what I've gathered, those will be phased out once they get all the space lasers working as intended and they'll start launching the V2 satellites, but i guess we'll see. Anyways, the way it works now, you're connected to a satellite overhead, the satellite relays data to your nearest ground station, and then the ground station sends the data to whatever POP you're assigned to and that's where you reach actual internet.

Thank You.
