@CapitalB what UV problems though? I live in Italy i have yet to smear myself with sunscreen. And yeah, I'm outdoors most of the time.

@ThatCrazyDude you can look at plants who should not have UV damages and yet they develop.

Funny how you think we have all the same skin.

@CapitalB it's just a matter of getting used to it. When i a kid, growing up in Poland mind you, I'd always get sunburns in the summer. But then again, i was only playing outside during summer vacation, so there's that. When i moved to the Philippines i became kind of outdoors person, my skin got used to UV exposure and that was it.
Now, I'm not saying that everyone's skin is the same, but it's not like people died off because of melanoma before sun screen was made available in supermarkets

@ThatCrazyDude my ancestors did not work around the zenit. They slept two hours under a tree and then the next hours of work. Hay season was the worst task of the year. I read that somewhere but my grandmother told the same that her grandmother was never outside at noon. Always up with the sun, first 5-6hrs then midday sleep and another 5-6hrs. She did the same.

Btw I suspect this skin problem thing is a byproduct of soap usage or something different and not only sun exposure/robustness.

maybe! the skin reacts to UV not only with darkening but also with growing more hard skin, which is removed with washing.
