Use KDE
Be typing in terminal
At some point NextCloud decides I need a login popup
It steals focus so I continue typing in there

Why is this allowed to happen, who thought this kind of shit design is excusable?

@tyil idk about kwin maybe you can tune it so things aren't allowed to steal focus. i think you can prevent it in fvwm.

@bonifartius@qoto.org I'm using KDE here to try out wayland, which as far as I'm concerned is still not ready for serious usage. But by using it daily I feel like I have more right to properly talk shit about it.

@tyil haha :D i have no idea if this can be fixed with wayland, most things are broken by design there

@bonifartius@qoto.org Yeah, its awful. And there's still no good tiling WM available. I had hoped #Hyprland could do the trick, and it gets further than the alternatives I've tried so far, but it hogs 1 cpu core constantly, and the master layout doesn't always actually tile right (closing a window may just leave a void until you spawn a new window and close that too, but not too quickly), and "focus next" doesn't always focus the next thing, sometimes it skips windows which you can then only select with "focus previous", but that doesnt let you focus anything but the things you cant focus with "focus next". Oh, and while everything indicates I should have a tag list in the bar I chose, I do not have a tag list in the bar.

How long has
#Wayland been around now, and why can it still not be used for the most bare basics? Everyone keeps telling me to use #Sway but I don't like i3 tiling, if I wanted to do everything manually I might as well not use a tiling WM >_>
