@MK2boogaloo @Zergling_man a good old style keyboard ruined. should have been a chiclet abomination instead.

@Zergling_man @MK2boogaloo the old thinkpads were pretty decent regarding travel and feedback. it's not full sized of course.

@bonifartius @MK2boogaloo There is no such thing as a good shallow keyboard. I look at that and I know immediately it will be awful to use.
@bonifartius @MK2boogaloo In general I just don't use laptops because there isn't any part of them that isn't suffering.
But I am, right this minute, working on a solution to that. But I am being stumped by a short cable. It looks like the kind that's very annoying to mimic, but I don't think I'll be able to rearrange anything to handle it, either.
@Zergling_man @bonifartius yeah, I wonder though if there's a good spot for used PC parts in Japan.
@MK2boogaloo @bonifartius Akiba, of course. But I want this thing ready for the next time I go there.
@Zergling_man @bonifartius can you elaborate more? Is it like a mini-ITX PC but with monitor and keyboard attached to it?
@MK2boogaloo @bonifartius It's some touchscreen shit that the hinge got snapped on, so I'm trying to remount the screen directly on the base. Leave space to insert a stand and it's done; plug in USB hub and attach peripherals results in an actual usable computer.
@MK2boogaloo @bonifartius I have several spare keyboards. Not sure where I've put them right now but I know which cupboard to look in.
@MK2boogaloo @bonifartius Yeah but for laptops so of course every single step is extremely retarded.

@Zergling_man @bonifartius that's the most important thing isn't it? Kek. Btw I can't even run WC3 smoothly here, so I have to wait a couple weeks to upgrade my VGA and CPU.

@bonifartius @MK2boogaloo And for some reason they didn't become standard. Even framework doesn't produce anything worth buying; but I'd sooner buy from them than asus, dell or whatever.

@MK2boogaloo @Zergling_man yes, not as good as a full sized mechanical keyboard but the best in notebooks imho. would love if old style thinkpads came back with 4:3 display in a good resolution and the classic keyboard :)
