hey security specialists,

if i have a phone with arbitrary malware on it

and i connect that phone via usb with my laptop

does that phone pose any danger for my laptop or the data on it?

i am not clear on exactly how these protocols work, i thought MTP can’t really do much but i don’t know if malware can change the behaviour of the phone

(this is a hypothetical scenario for general understanding, assume worst cases for everything)
