@bykimbo I don't see a thumbnail either. On my previous Mastodon instance you'd see the image (at a reasonable size) as long as I used the full URL rather than Flickr's shortened URL. Apparently there's some standard way for websites to fetch previews from other websites. I don't know if it's Mastodon or Flickr that's not playing ball in this case.

@bykimbo I think it's all down to something called "OpenGraph". The Flickr page has lots of og:xxx tags (e.g. og:title, og:image) which other sites can use to make a preview. Mastodon has this sort of thing in its API (docs.joinmastodon.org/entities) but doesn't seem to be using it at the moment.
