There appears to be considerable scepticism. :) I wouldn't be surprised if there was actually some vulnerability allowing this, even from a Bluetooth device, though, IoT being what it is...

Been clarified as not true.

A compromised toothbrush app launching a DDoS attack might be more likely than coming from a compromised Bluetooth connected toothbrush.

Now my Robot vacuum cleaner being in a botnet is a different matter.
