'In zebrafish, the zGRAD degron system (18), adapted from the Drosophila deGradFP system (19), is used to target POIs tagged with a GFP-based fluorescent protein for degradation, using an anti-GFP nanobody fused to an F-box protein. The degradation of the POI is mediated through polyubiquitination and the proteasome. However, these approaches have not been tested on many endogenous targets in vertebrates (20, 21) and notably not on proteins integrated into tight subcellular structures such as the sarcomere.'
