Are there disadvantages of having a diagnosis, in your view?

@KatyElphinstone One of the biggest disadvantages of my recent diagnosis has been that my life partner now immediately writes off any thoughts I express on social relationships. So there is a category of difficulties that I have with my life partner that has essentially stopped improving.
