"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and it is my job, my responsibility, as an astronomer to remind people that alien hypotheses should always be a last resort" and I agree.
But SETI stated that Tabby star is situated at the right distance from habitable zone (https://www.seti.org/whats-tabbys-star)
So I won't be sceptic yet partly because its exciting. Possibilites are only limited to everything that we haven't thought of yet.
