@cosullivan I've been wondering though, did journalism really include more fact-checking "back in the day", or did we just assume so because we didn't have better sources via the Internet to counter them at the time? The news I read back then might have been as crappy or crappier, and I would have had no idea if all major sources were towing a common line and ignoring contradicting sources. Maybe we just have additional sources to verify now.
