To be honest, Mastodon needs better management of threads. :)
@roydanroy True. As well as lists with the capability to add users from other instances.
@subramani @roydanroy
You can add anyone from any instance to your lists, the interface is just a bit clunky - you have to search their full username (@user@instance) in the search bar, go to their profile, click on the three dots menu on the top right, and choose "Add or remove from lists".
After digging some more, I discovered that you need to follow to add them to the list. On Twitter, you simply add them to the list and pin the list to your TL without following anyone.

As far as I understand, you need to follow them to be able to add them from the "Edit list" screen. But the method I mentioned works even if you don't follow them. At least that's my experience.

Do you mean there's no "Add or remove from lists" entry in that ⋮ menu?

This I have no idea about, I've only used lists as a private feature both here and on bird app.
@digital_carver
I just tried again to reconfirm no luck without a follow.
I don't see a feature to share lists with others or subscribe to others' lists. I am wrong?
