@sotolf I tried all of them and sticked to vim for a good amount of time, but I have to admit that I personally like kakoune's editing paradigm more and the strict adherence to the unix philosophy. Nonetheless, all of them are very good choices :)

Trying kakoune and helix made me (re-)realize the historical chaff in Vim's basic editing commands, quirks that I'd gotten used to over the years. Unfortunately plugins are a necessity for me in my editor, and in that area kakoune is far behind (n)vim.
